The Ageing Well project seeks to address older people’s access to and engagement with arts and culture, in particular looking at the barriers and challenges to wider participation.
 

A team of older people interested in the arts formed a cultural champions team to engage with older people across Reading. The project specifically sought to explore why some older people are not able to fully participate in arts and cultural activities.

 

The Cultural Champions Team began by researching the barriers facing older people in engaging with culture.

 

Based on the initial research, the cultural champions organised an event to bring people together to share experiences and explore how older people could become more involved in designing and running arts activities for excluded groups.
