Action Media is a young person led production company aiming to provide meaningful work placements in the creative industries.
Young people, particularly NEETs (not in employment, training or education), often struggle to find suitable work experience to help them prepare for future employment.
The project is using the formation of a production company to support young people to:
Build confidence and teamwork
Develop their communication skills
Prepare for the workplace
Inspire other young people and the wider community
Young people take part in a wide range of practical work experience activities including the setting up and running of the Action Media company, social media, marketing and documentary video production. They also have the opportunity of gaining arts award qualifications.
Action Media is run in partnership with Starting Point, the Mustard Tree foundation's young persons mentoring project.
Mind The Gap project
A varied project looking at post-pandemic life for young people.
Action Media interviewed local practitioners, finding out more about what they do and how young people could benefit from engaging with their organisations and offerings.
