Standup Cinema is a new independent film event presenting films in a relaxed café bar environment. It is the place to see local work and network with both established and aspiring artists and filmmakers.

Standup Cinema evenings host local filmmaking and lively debate followed by the very best of independent film. Showing rarely seen classics, obscure documentaries, cult independents and overlooked modern gems. The bar is open throughout the screening.

Standup Cinema is a collaboration between Real Time Video and the Rising Sun Arts Centre. It was launched in March 2009 as part of Real Time’s twenty-fifth anniversary celebrations.
