Celebrating the work of local people
We are working in all six Wokingham neighbourhoods to make a series of short films featuring and created by local groups – a project called In View

Real Time plan to occupy a shop in Wokingham town centre to promote the In View project and to give participants an opportunity to come in and edit their films, develop new ideas and see the work in progress.
The final films will offer a valuable insight into the range and scope of work being undertaken locally, the commitment of local people, and how capacity can be built for the future. Real Time plan to reuse the shop to exhibit the films to a wide audience – the films will play continuously in the shop window.
The In View project aims to promote community cohesion through participatory media. It will provide structured creative activities for young people and develop intergenerational links. It will build up local skills, open up and develop channels of communication within the neighbourhood and across the borough.
Real Time’s approach to participatory video means it can work with small groups or individuals concurrently on different elements of the production. Individuals and groups can decide how much or how little they want to be involved but by ensuring they are in control from the very beginning participants always feel ownership of the project.
As part of the project process Real Time:
In View is a Wokingham Borough Council project, funded by Extended Services.
